Feeling slightly uneasy about Adobe Illustrator, I still went ahead to use it to make my poster. It was going well, until it wasn’t. The Poster was supposed to be for our Lecturer’s nephew, who is a musician (who plays the classical guitar). He was having a concert in France, and wanted an advertisement for it (this being the poster).
My original idea was to have an image of a classical guitar, and both Charlie Richardson and the other half to his duo Anne-Lise Vaumoron in the guitar with details of the event around it. I had decided to use elements of Tony Harmer's video to help with my idea. However, I found it very difficult to create and ended up having to start again several times. By the fifth time, I had decided to give up my original idea. Unfortunately, I came to the decision to leave out the picture of Richardson and Anne-Lise. To be completely honest, I was not the biggest fan of the photo options we were given for the poster, so I wasn’t too disappointed. In the end, my poster was the image of the guitar, with the details of the event. I was extremely disappointed because I really wanted to show my creativity with this poster, and make it fun, and unique. I tried to make the font in different shades of brown, similar to a guitar. If I was able to, I would have changed the background colour as well. For the future, I definitely will practice using Illustrator more so I can figure out how to do more things, along with having more patience so I can not give up as easily.
