When I saw the title 'Seen strangely through glass', I interpreted this particular brief as something I may see/come across every day, but through glass, my interpretation may change. This is why I decided to choose a kaleidoscope as my photo.
To those who may not know/ understand the concept of a kaleidoscope, it is an optical instrument (nowadays used for entertainment) where two mirrors are placed at a certain angle, and light bounces off the glass causing symmetrical images from pieces of coloured beads or glass. When you look through the reflector, you can see the colours in various patterns, which can be changed constantly through a rotating tube. I like how the patterns are never the same, and it gives you a chance to see colours in a unique and wonderful way, which can be visually pleasing to the eye. By looking through the glass, you get to see colours transform into patterns in a "strange" or even "weird" way.
I took this photo with my iPhone camera, and I chose to take the photo from the viewpoint of the person looking through the reflector, seeing the coloured beads change into peculiar shapes and patterns.
Looking back at the image I had taken, I would say that it was a bit difficult to find a pattern that I found aesthetically pleasing since the colours are always shifting, but once I did, it definitely made me appreciate the art of creating distinct patterns by "mixing" various colours together.
