I decided to combine these two photos for my diptych. The reason behind that is due to the colours that are shown in both photos. My photo is the background picture (of a kaleidoscope) and I wanted to include a photo that also had a similar theme. The front picture is of Chinatown, which is a small area in London that is often filled with multi-coloured lanterns. When I first looked at the photos, I immediately thought of how the lanterns strung across the area reminded me of the colours that were inside the kaleidoscope, and how Chinatown was its own "open kaleidoscope". I had to use photoshop for this particular "project", which if I am being completely honest, I had a bit of difficulty with. Looking back at the experience with using Photoshop, I would say that I liked the various options they give you to be able to change a photo, and it allows you to use your full imagination. On the other hand, I do believe that photoshop can be quite confusing to use, even with the tutorials. The reason I say this is because there were still some things, I wanted to know how to do that were not included in the tutorials. If I had the chance to do it again, I most likely would have chosen a different way of incorporating the two pictures together. I think that by practicing using Photoshop more I will eventually feel more comfortable using it (and have less difficulty).
